The subtitles are easy to access and whilst the English subtitles at times are literal, the meaning is not lost. Witness the Lord as a sansarik or householder in this. The producers would be hard-pressed to find a better suited Shiva. Mahadev is a mesmerizing, visually stunning story of Lord Shiva and his avatars. The continuance of the actors are also a bonus.

Having watched most of the first series, this series sees the benefit of improved technology and improved scripting. Despite the sometimes longer than necessary sequences etc., the main storyline nevertheless carries this drama through. The simple tenants of the Hindu faith / way of living is explained in a way that is accessible to all. There aren't the overly violent scenes with women highly objectified and subject to verbal, physical and economic abuse (themes rife in many Bollywood/Tollywood films). Some parts are a bit overly done and dramatic, with much looking, gasping, and highly dramatic music. Being home one day, I watched a little and was surprised to find the story line addictive as the themes are universal - greed, power, selfishness, discipline, destruction and non-respect for the natural world.
